Large file sbecome very slow when served from a pod

Im running a small web service on Kubernetes that serves downloadable files. Small files work fine, but larger files become extremely slow and sometimes the connection just stops. The pod itself doesn’t show high cpu or memory usage, so I’m not sure whether I should be looking at the ingress, network settings, or the application. Has anyone dealt with something similar? what would you check first?

I’d start by checking the ingress timeout and body-size settings, then test downloading the same large file directly from the pod to compare performance. Also check network bandwidth, proxy logs, and whether the application streams files properly instead of loading them entirely into memory. This should help narrow down whether the bottleneck is in the application, ingress, or network.
