Add something like stakater/Reloader to core Kubernetes

It would be great if Kubernetes would contain something like GitHub - stakater/Reloader: A Kubernetes controller to watch changes in ConfigMap and Secrets and do rolling upgrades on Pods with their associated Deployment, StatefulSet, DaemonSet and DeploymentConfig – [✩Star] if you're using it!

Reloading Deployments, when a Secret or ConfigMap has changed is needed very often.

How can I make this come true?

I know that this is a long road.

Should I start a KEP, or is it very likely that this will get rejected?

Why would it be better if it were “in” Kubernetes as opposed to being an ecosystem project?

The Kubernetes project is already very large and we have trouble staffing all the work we really need done. Adding more projects, especially when a good ecosystem project exists, seems wasteful unless it is materially better, and I am not sure I see why it would be.

We try to avoid competing with our ecosystem, and we surely do not want to get into a feature-race with ecosystem.

Why should this be IN Kubernetes rather than ON it?

So if you think this is really important, that is the argument you need to overcome.
