The feature in snapcraft where snaps perform unattended updates does not work for my organization’s safety requirements. Unattended reboots could cause hazards due to the systems managed by microk8s rebooting during automated sequences. I also would like to stay current with new releases and have a reasonable upgrade path for my inventory. It appears the snapd authors have no intention to extend the system to disable unattended upgrades.
How about a second package manager for microk8s? Compiling from source is possible but seems like overkill. I’d be happy with a .deb in a PPA.
