Best Practices for maintaining a time standard? (was: Does anyone know what time it is?)

I’m looking for the right place to seek wisdom about how to manage clocks in a k8s environment? some of the questions I have are:

  • Is anyone running their own time standard? (feel free to ask wtf I’m talking about)
  • Is there a chrony helm chart with sensible defaults for NTP pools, failover, dispersion, jitter, etc.?
  • Are there any studies on how to track clock drift across nodes?
  • Across regions?
