Contributor Summit in Barcelona is now open for registration!

Hi everyone!

We’re super happy to announce that the Contributor Summit in Barcelona has a new website and is open for registration!

The event will take place at Fira Gran Via, Barcelona, on Monday May 20th, with a Contributor Summit Celebration on the evening before.

Read below and then register here: https://events.linuxfoundation.org/events/contributor-summit-europe-2019/

We welcome all NEW contributors to the Kubernetes project for hands-on workshops, separated into two tracks.

Make sure you pick the one that you feel most comfortable with:

  • 101 New Contributors – For brand new contributors who are interested in contributing, but have little to no experience contributing to open source projects
  • 201 Intermediate Contributors – For people who have experience contributing to other open source projects, but who are new to Kubernetes

If you’re an EXISTING contributor, come join us for SIG F2F meetings throughout the day, and network in the hallway track with both new and existing contributors.

SIG F2F meetings are coordinated with the SIG chairs who register for them, so make sure your SIG of choice have done so (bug them during your next call!)

For BOTH NEW AND EXISTING contributors, we would love to see you at the Contributor Summit Celebration on Sunday evening before the main event.

Make sure you register for this to reserve your spot.

As the Kubernetes project is made up of amazing volunteers, we are also looking for volunteers to help us facilitate the Contributor Summit on Monday, May 20th.

Currently we’re looking for people who can help with being the following:

  • Workshop assistants , working with Tim Pepper and Guinevere Saenger who will be our workshop leads for the day.

  • Registration desk managers , if you want to meet new people this is a great spot!

  • SIG F2F area facilitators , we need a few people to let everyone know where they should go, make sure the area isn’t too noisy, and facilitate other needs the SIGs might have.

If you’re going to KubeCon + CloudNativeCon and are interested in helping us make Contributor Summit Barcelona a success, please let me know here or on Slack (@jonasrosland).

For more information on the Contributor Summits going forward, there’s a newly minted blog post around just that: https://kubernetes.io/blog/2019/03/20/a-look-back-and-whats-in-store-for-kubernetes-contributor-summits/

We hope to see many of you in Barcelona, and we look forward to making this a great experience for you all!
