For Awareness: Fedora RPM Changes

Of interest for anyone who uses the Kubernetes rpms available in Fedora repositories (not the rpms available from the Kubernetes team):

Starting with Kubernetes v1.29 rpms (currently in Fedora rawhide which will become Fedora 40), the kubernetes rpms names and content have changed. The new names and general content are:

  1. kubernetes - contains kubelet and kubeadm;
  2. kubernetes-client - contains kubectl
  3. kubernetes-systemd - contains all systemd units needed for a manual set up and configuration of Kubernetes control planes or worker nodes. Not needed if using kubeadm for cluster bootstrap.

Fedora 40 will be released in late April or early May.
