Wanted to share this excellent article I just encountered around bootstrapping Kubernetes with Amazon EKS. As I’ve been hearing, this article supports the idea that there are still some large hurdles making both building and maintaining a cluster tedious.
Although, there are utilities making this easier like https://github.com/weaveworks/eksctl, you may want to consider sticking with your kops (or other) formatted deployment mechanism.
