Regarding K8s performances

Hi there,

We are looking to deploy a new K8s cluster. We first have tested it on “old” physical servers. It works pretty well and we’ve made a lot of tests on it.

Here is the question :

How the use of virtual machines impacts K8s performances ? Do you think VMs are a good idea or do you recommand to use physical servers for a production cluster ? What is your actual infrastructure ? Have you prefered virtual over physical servers, or the reverse ?

Usage of virtual machines brings up flexibility (as long as the ESX (or others) servers are already existants), and that why it could be interresting to use that.

I’m looking forward to your feedbacks from your experiences.
