Different options to deploy and manage a Kubernetes cluster in production on IBM ppc64 architecture

Hi everyone,

We have IBM ppc64 architecture. We have looked at deploying Kubernetes with Rancher but Rancher is not compiled for this type of architecture. We have also looked at IBM’s Kubernetes flavor but we want to refrain from being vendor locked.

I would like your opinion. What different methods of deploying Kubernetes into production on ppc64 architecture are there? Would we have to compile something from source or is there maybe a deployment and management option that is supported by ppc64?
